I looked great, just like I had wanted

Firm, strong, in control

It did feel wrong, fake, ugly

But that’s feelings, inside, invisible

On the outside I looked great, and the mirror seemed to agree with me.

Publicly preferred Pagliacci, charming character

circulating laughter, image at cost

All saw the exterior melody,

no one heard the inner discord

Mirror manipulates mankind,

facade fools fellowship

Stable looks, pleasing aesthetics

No doubt a happy soul

What could be wrong,

allure aligns serenity

Perfectly personified picture

Mirror Michelangelo, masterpiece made

Reality often disgusts

Behind closed doors, tears trample the mask

Heroic conqueror abducted by the Algea

Surrounding society becomes noise

Loved ones seem frightening

Mirror invites again, colours scattered over vanity

But oh, what a beautiful sight

Conducting kindness amongst the kindred

Providing solace to the dispirited

Believed to be wise, pillar of purity

assumed to be on the right path

Mirror wins again, sculptor successful

Vermin like creature invade the mind

Tormenting thoughts takeover the tasks

Birthing realm now turned to hell

Solitude becomes Dante’s descent

Burned and forced to be a phoenix daily

Mirror trained to transform turmoil to trickery

But that’s feelings, inside, invisible

On the outside I looked great, and the mirror seemed to agree with me.
